Mississippi Corridor Consortium - Mobile Welding Lab

Mobile Welding Lab / Unit

The Mississippi Corridor Consortium purchased a mobile welding laboratory that serves the 27 county region. It is furnished with Welding booths and can provide training in the areas of Mig, Tig, and Stick welding. The unit can be relocated to cities and communities that have the greatest need. This flexibility of relocation of the training unit allows for maximum impact and usage of the resource. The cost of the mobile unit was approximately $200,000.

This project is funded by:

Three Rivers Planning and Development District committed $100,000 to the project to purchase the unit.
The State Board for Community and Junior Colleges will pay for the instructional and supply costs of the project.
The MCC committed $100,000 from Appalachian Regional Commission to assist with the purchasing of the mobile unit.
